The author of the book is Roya Tagiyeva, Doctor of Art History, Professor, Honoured Cultural Figure of Azerbaijan, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Turkic World, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Carpet Makers’ Union. Her works exhibit a profound understanding of the carpet-weaving process, its philosophy and inextricable links to global culture. Roya Tagiyeva’s scientific works have not previously been translated into Russian, which limited access to them for a wide range of researchers. Now, they are available to a multi-million Russian-speaking audience.

The book has been distributed to more than 30 organizations, museums, libraries and universities in the Russian Federation engaged in the study of the cultural heritage of Turkic-speaking and South Caucasus peoples and transferred to colleagues from the Organization’s Member States. In response, numerous feedbacks and thanks were received, in particular from the Russian State Museum of the East: Dear Ksenia Yurievna, The State Museum of the East expresses its gratitude to you for the book “Azerbaijani Carpet” by Roya Tagiyeva, which you donated to the museum’s library. Your gift will enrich our museum's book collection. This book will be added to the library's main collection. Museum researchers and library visitors will use it in their work. Yours sincerely, Director General of the Museum A.V. Sedov."

The book presentation organised by Intersputnik jointly with the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos), the Signatory of the Organization from Azerbaijan, took place at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum in Baku in September 2025. It was a part of the industry capacity-building seminar “Orbital Synergy: Global Prospects for Space Communications” for attendees from Azerbaijan and other Member States of Intersputnik and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
