Youth Far Beyond Borders

Intersputnik sees its mission not only as developing satellite communications and space technologies today, but also as preparing the people who will shape the industry’s future tomorrow. Supporting young people from the Member States has become one of the Organization’s strategic priorities, pursued through the international Youth Far Beyond Borders (YFBB) project launched in 2023.

The sustainable development of the industry is impossible without a strong, well-educated and united generation of professionals. Intersputnik’s youth policy therefore aims to help address strategic challenges such as:

  • building a pool of qualified personnel and developing human capacity in satellite communications, broadcasting and space technologies for the benefit of the Member States;
  • providing professional training and growth opportunities for young people from the Member States, involving them in the international industry community and strengthening their role in addressing key industry challenges;
  • bringing young people from the Member States together and strengthening their professional and cultural ties, while preserving and promoting the cultural diversity of the Member States;
  • contributing to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Our ultimate goal is to unite talented young people from different countries around a shared endeavour and give them the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the development of humanity through space technologies.

We invite the following to participate and collaborate:
  • young industry professionals who are citizens of the Member States and are under 35;
  • students at relevant higher education institutions who are citizens of the Member States;
  • mentors — industry professionals who are citizens of the Member States, have at least five years’ industry experience and are willing to transfer their knowledge to the next generation;
  • young creative people who are citizens of the Member States and are under 35, and whose work showcases the cultural traditions and unique identities of the Member States.

Promoting professional training and growth of young people and involving them in the work of the international industry community. The Organization enables young professionals, students and mentors to participate in key international events, funds specialised training and organises internships within the structural subdivisions of the Directorate.

Creating the youth platform. Intersputnik is building a professional community of young experts, holding competitions and contests, and supporting joint youth projects and initiatives.

Developing intercultural relations: The Organization promotes young people’s creative projects, organises competitions and exhibitions, and facilitates intercultural exchange as a foundation for mutual understanding among the peoples of the Organization’s Member States.

By supporting young people today, Intersputnik is building the foundations for a sustainable future of the space industry – a future that the younger generation of the Member States will build together.
