Andrey Kirillovich, Director for Strategy, Marketing and Business Development at Intersputnik, will moderate the plenary session, which will focus on the effective implementation of space innovations for the development of the information and communications space in Central Eurasia. Mr. Kirillovich will also present a report on the prospects for using space technologies for equal access to modern digital services, the unifying role of international cooperation, and the relevant experience of Intersputnik and other international organisations.
The fifth international conference on space technologies, STC 2026, regularly attended by Intersputnik, will bring together representatives of national space agencies, national, regional and global satellite operators, and companies developing earth surface monitoring applications and promoting cloud and AI technologies in space services. STC 2026 will bring together representatives from the international space community, universities, and regulatory organisations. The main theme of the forum is the role of space business in the sustainable socio-economic development of the region.
Intersputnik, as an international organization of space communications, fully recognises the importance of space technologies for the socio-economic development of Central Asian and Caspian countries. Six Member States of the Organization are located in this dynamically developing region. In this context, in 2025, Intersputnik, with the participation of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), organised two specialised regional events: the seminar “Space Activities in Modern Realities: Opportunities, Innovation, and Prospects” in Almaty (Kazakhstan) and the seminar “Orbital Synergy: Global Perspectives on Space Connectivity” in Baku (Azerbaijan). During the year, Intersputnik also took part in the Space Days Kazakhstan International Forum in Almaty, the ITU Regional Development Forum for the Commonwealth of Independent States in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), the International Forum “Digital Transformation: Prospects and Solutions” in Dushanbe (Tajikistan), and the World Telecommunication Development Conference in Baku. In 2026, in collaboration with international organisations, primarily the ITU, Intersputnik plans to organise a number of industry events aimed at promoting satellite communications to create modern regional digital ecosystems, strengthening human resources, and supporting young employees from the Organization's Member States. A number of such events will take place in Central Asia.
In 2025, conferences in Almaty, Bishkek, Baku and Dushanbe, with the active participation of Intersputnik employees, were focused on the issues of regulatory support for the development of satellite networks, the features of promoting satellite projects in the region, options for constructive international cooperation and student participation in space projects, as well as other current issues related to the development of the satellite industry.
