The event was held by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Intersputnik was the forum’s silver sponsor and presented its Youth Far Beyond Borders international project, as well as the FARA ecosystem. Intersputnik’s delegates were the key speakers at multiple topical round tables, discussions and presentations held in the framework of the summit.
The key slogan of the event was “Amplifying youth voices in ICT for an inclusive and connected future”. As an international organisation supporting the UN and ITU initiatives, Intersputnik actively works with the youth seeking to boost the satellite industry’s talent pool.
The summit program included the official presentation of the Youth Far Beyond Borders, an international project which Intersputnik has been running for over two years in cooperation with and for the benefit of its Member States. The project has three priorities:
- Digital technologies for a better world: supporting the use of digital technologies to solve global problems and active cooperation with international organisations;
- Expanding competencies and professional development: investing in capacity building and internship programs, creating platforms for professional networking;
- Creativity and innovation: promoting creative youth, art projects and initiatives that address crucial global issues.
As a part of the Youth Far Beyond Borders project, Intersputnik helps young talents from its Member States to take part in the most significant industry events (exhibitions, conferences, congresses, etc.) as delegates and speakers. Also, project participants are offered programmes and lectures in key industry segments and motivational meetings with the key figures from the global satellite industry. The project’s strategic target is to involve young people in solving the UN humanitarian objectives.
At the ITU Global Youth Summit 2025 in Varadero, Intersputnik was represented by a delegation of fourteen young talents from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nicaragua, Russia, Viet Nam and Intersputnik Directorate.
Aidar Toktorbaev, a participant of the Youth Far Beyond Borders project from the Kyrgyz Republic, spoke at the summit’s panel discussion about the Tunduk ecosystem, which facilitates public access to digital government services and provides a convenient interface for communication between the government and people.
Ulyana Stolyarova, another project participant from Russia, moderated the session dedicated to the ICT economy and innovative business models, presented an overview of the key cybersecurity challenges in the CIS region, and delivered a speech at the summit closing ceremony focusing on the importance of involving young people in the work of international organisations and the support for young ICT talents.
Young summit delegates from the Intersputnik Directorate spoke at topical round tables dedicated to Empowering Youth through Digital Literacy and the use of Artificial intelligence (AI). At the AI roundtable, Intersputnik presented its views on using AI technologies for real-time analysis of satellite telemetry, managing and orchestrating satellite constellations, improving the spectrum and network resource use, managing space traffic, space debris tracking, and achieving sustainable development of outer space.
At the summit, Intersputnik also presented its own FARA ecosystem, a set of IT solutions for rapid communication, distribution, adaptation and management of video content, and holding online events of any scale. FARA is a multifunctional solution combining digital broadcasting and social networking services: LiveTV and Video-on-Demand, content generation, and group chats administration. According to the developers, FARA as a professional and cultural knowledge sharing tool will help to build up ties between Intersputnik Member States and contribute to the global satellite industry development.
The ITU Global Youth Summit 2025 will issue a report to cover the youth’s opinions, innovative ideas and challenges across regions. The report will be a valuable resource for policymakers, ITU members and stakeholders to align their national, regional and global digital agendas with or use it in the run-up to the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2025 (WTDC-25).
