Intersputnik sponsored GYC-25 and organised the participation of a delegation of young professionals from its member states in the Youth Celebration and WTDC-25 events.
The Global Youth Celebration is based on the idea that young people are essential partners in building a connected, inclusive and sustainable digital future. At GYC-25, young professionals from around the world shared their visions for the future and new leadership ideas, learned about innovations in various fields, and engaged in dialogue with respected STEM industry experts and role-model ICT leaders. This exchange of views gave GYC-25 attendees the opportunity to establish connections and dialogue between generations, to build relationships that can be the basis for future collaboration in advancing international cooperation in the field of digital development.
As part of the GYC-25 programme, attendees visited Azerbaijan's leading innovative technology centres, including the National Aviation Academy and the Azerbaijan National STEAM Centre. There, they organised interactive panel discussions and participated in a communications session with the International Space Station.
Intersputnik supports the ITU's constructive initiatives to build up the potential of young people in the satellite and telecommunications industries, paying close attention to the training and advancement of young professionals. It is young professionals who are the talent pipeline of Intersputnik and its Member States and Signatories, as well as the guarantor of the future successful development of the satellite industry in general.
Through its Youth Far Beyond Borders (YFBB) project, Intersputnik encourages young professionals from the Organization's Member States to actively participate in the satellite industry development and strives to ensure that young people remain at the forefront of innovation and the development of new technologies. The YFBB project aims to equip talented young professionals with the skills to use digital technologies to address global issues while actively collaborating with international organisations. Intersputnik actively promotes the transfer of technological and management skills related to satellite communications to young people and organises their exchange of experience with industry leaders.
One of the significant aspects of this activity is supporting young professionals to participate in the most important industry events, such as exhibitions, conferences, congresses, etc., as delegates and speakers. At the initiative of Intersputnik, youth delegations took part in the International Astronautical Congresses 2023 and 2024, the Global Youth Summit 2025 and other events. This time, as part of the Youth Far Beyond Borders project, Intersputnik provided young professionals from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Vietnam, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Russia, and Tajikistan with a unique opportunity to participate in the Global Youth Celebration and the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2025 under the theme "Universal and Affordable Connectivity for an Inclusive and Sustainable Digital Future”. Young professionals gained experience in resolving regulatory issues and shaping new trends in the communications technology development with the goal of providing modern digital services to all of humanity.
