At the session on Regional Connectivity: The role of satellite communications held on the forum’s first day, Andrey Kirillovich, Director of Intersputnik’s Strategy, Marketing and Business Development, was the moderator and a speaker.

He spoke about the Organization’s potential to implement business and social satellite projects in hard-to-reach regions, shared practical experience helpful for the development of the region’s information and communications infrastructure, and also focused on human resources capacity building projects, as well as on the support for young professionals in Central Asia and the Caspian region. Mr. Kirillovich also shared Intersputnik’s view on the future development of the satellite communications industry.  The other speakers at this session were representatives of major regional and global satellite operators: Türksat, Eutelsat OneWeb, SSI-Monaco, and SES.

The STC Conference is a platform that brings together national space agencies, satellite operators and satellite service providers from Central Eurasia with the international space community. Every year, the conference discusses the role of the space and satellite business in the region’s sustainable social and economic development.

Intersputnik is an international organisation of space communications and recognises the key role of satellite communications in addressing global and regional economic problems and social issues. In this context, and also given that STC 2025 was hosted by Azerbaijan which joined Intersputnik in 2004, the Organization was glad to accept the invitation from the forum organisers and support STC 2025, and participated actively in its business program.

Satellite communications are a powerful tool to solve infrastructural, economic and social problems. Access of people from remote regions to modern digital applications is a driver for improving their quality of life. Speakers at the STC 2025 sessions addressed technical and regulatory matters of information and communications service development in the countries of Central Asia and the Caspian region, and proposed various solutions. Modern satellite technologies and innovations that can drive the deployment of satellite networks and lower the barrier to enter the space business for government, public and business entities were also addressed.
