The signed document is aimed at the development of cooperation in a wide range of areas, including the provision of satellite broadcasting services, broadband communications and mobile Internet access, procurement of satellites, and leasing bandwidth on existing and planned satellites. The memorandum was signed by Intersputnik Director General Ksenia Drozdova, Turksat Deputy General Manager of Satellite Services Dr. Selman Demirel and Turksat Director of Satellite Services Corporate Solutions Mehmet Fuat Eroğlu at the AfricaCom 2025 exhibition in Cape Town (South Africa).
The collaboration between two significant players on the global and regional satellite markets opens up an opportunity for mutual use of satellite-based resources to implement projects on various vertical and geographical markets, expands their service portfolios to meet customer needs, and strengthens the positions of Intersputnik and Turksat on the global satellite communications market. Turksat will benefit from the access to the global orbital constellation of Intersputnik and its strategic partners. Intersputnik, in turn, will be able to use the capacity of Turksat satellites for its projects, including the prospect Türksat-6A satellite, whose coverage areas include India, Europe, and the Middle East.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding with Turksat marks the next step in Intersputnik's policy of open and equitable international cooperation, which is essential for the effective use of satellite technology for commercial, government and social projects, bridging the digital divide, and achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
