The document seeks to boost international cooperation and build capacity in the member countries of both organisations in the field of space activities, including in the context of satellite projects in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC).
The Memorandum was signed at the joint 53rd session of the Board and 28th session of the Operations Committee of Intersputnik held in Luang Prabang, Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The document meets both organisations’ strategic priority of boosting and strengthening international cooperation in various fields. Once again it highlights how Intersputnik continues to reinforce its position as a major player in the industry community in regions where the development of satellite communications is critical for bridging the digital divide and providing people with advanced information and communication services.
As international intergovernmental organisations, APSCO and Intersputnik work to develop multifaceted cooperation, enhance economic, scientific, technical and cultural relations through the implementation of achievements in space science and primarily satellite communications, and jointly use the resources of space technologies and space systems.
It should be mentioned that, in 2024, Intersputnik signed an agreement on cooperation with the Regional African Satellite Communications Organization (RASCOM). In February 2025, Intersputnik became a member of the Asia-Pacific Space Community Council (APSCC), a recognised regional organisation of major satellite market players in the Asia-Pacific.
