APSCC is a non-profit international association representing all sectors of the satellite and space industry, including private and public companies, government entities, as well as academic and research organisations. APSCC’s main objective is to foster the development of satellite communication and broadcasting systems, as well as space activities in the Asia-Pacific region for the benefit of socio-economic and cultural welfare of the region.
APSCC is focused on promoting new satellite services, accelerating their implementation and widespread distribution in the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, the association helps to formulate industry guidelines for policies, regulations and technical standards in the region and worldwide. APSCC also hosts an annual conference and industry-specific online webinars and offline workshops to discuss burning issues on the development of satellite services in the region and around the world.
Satellite communications in the Asia-Pacific region are a key technology for connecting the unconnected, implementing modern digital services, promoting current social and humanistic trends, and uniting people in a digital community. This is facilitated by the region's geographical landscape that features many remote and hard-to-reach areas in the Asia mainland, as well as a huge number of isolated islands scattered across the Pacific Ocean.
“Being an international intergovernmental organisation, Intersputnik has extensive experience in deploying satellite networks to address a wide range of social and economic issues in various regions of the world,” said Intersputnik Director General Ksenia Drozdova. “The strategic goals of Intersputnik and APSCC largely coincide. The synergy of the experience and qualifications of our professionals with the capabilities of other members of the association will allow implementing relevant projects in the region to connect the people to digital services at a new level, thereby improving the quality of life of people and proving the leading role of satellite communications in achieving sustainable development goals.”
APSCC members include commercial and government satellite operators, satellite manufacturers, software developers, launch service providers, ground equipment vendors, service providers, insurance and investment companies from Asia, Europe and North America. Today, APSCC has over 100 members from over 35 countries.
