In accordance with Article 102 of the Charter of the United Nations (UN), the Agreement of 15 November 1971 on the Establishment of the Intersputnik International System and Organization of Space Communications was registered with the UN Secretariat on 27 March 1973 under No. 12343.

Half a century ago, it was beyond our imagination that technologies initially developed for space exploration would seamlessly integrate into our daily lives: Teflon coating, zippers, Velcro, wireless tools, solar panels, artificial hearts, dental braces, satellite Internet and TV, navigation, and more. Soon, every smartphone will have access to satellite communication channels. Space explorers envision that the technology introduced should liberate humanity from mundane tasks, preventing global challenges and fostering personal development.
